Shibu Soren sworn in as Chief Minister of J'khand

Ranchi: JMM (Jharkhand Mukti Morcha) chief Shibu Soren was today (March 2, 2005) sworn in as the third Chief Minister of Jharkhand by Governor Syed Sibte Razi at a simple ceremony at the Raj Bhavan this evening.

Spotlight: Elections-2005

Stephen Marandi, who revolted against Soren after being denied a JMM ticket and retained the Dumka seat as an Independent was sworn in as the deputy Chief Minister.

Joba Manjhi, Girinath Singh, Bandhu Tirkey, Annapurna Devi and Kamlesh Kumar Singh were sworn in as Ministers.

The governor asked Soren to prove the majority of his Government by March 21.
