Jharkhand Governor a contract killer, says Advani Thursday, March 3 2005 15:35 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
New Delhi:
BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) president L K Advani today (Mar 3, 2005) attacked Jharkhand Governor Syed Sibtey Razi describing him as "contract killer acting at the behest" of the UPA (United Progressive Alliance) Government for installing JMM (Jharkhand Mukti Morcha) chief Shibu Soren as Chief Minister in Jharkhand.
"I quote a daily in New Delhi which has said that the Jharkhand Governor has murdered democracy. I do not think this view is totally correct. He (the Governor) is a supari (contract) killer, acting at the behest of the UPA Government," he told reporters in New Delhi.
Advani, who chaired a meeting of NDA (National Democratic Alliance) to chalk out strategy in Parliament on Razi's action, said "real murderers of democracy are in Delhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi are responsible," party spokesman V K Malhotra quoted him as saying.
He said Advani recalled June 1975 when emergency was imposed in the country and all Opposition leaders were arrested.
