Ranchi:
Jharkhand Chief Minister Shibu Soren asserted today (March 3, 2005) that he would be able to prove the majority of his Government on the floor of the Assembly on March 21, the deadline set for him by Governor Syed Sibte Razi.
Soren told his first press conference in Ranchi that two Independents supporting his Government, Hari Narain Rai and Enos Ekka had been 'taken away' by the NDA (National Democratic Alliance).
"The family of Hari Narain Rai last night came to me and complained that a car came for him and forcibly took him away," Soren, who has claimed the support of 42 legislators, said.
"I then asked the administration to look into the complaint. Two of my Ministers also went to the airport to check," he said.
"Even newspapers this morning reported about allegations made by Rai's family," he said.
