NDA demand recall of Goa and Jharkhand Governors Friday, March 4 2005 11:38 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

National Democratic Alliance (NDA) today (Mar 4, 2005) decided not to allow any business in both Houses of Parliament demanding immediate recall of Goa and Jharkhand Governors.
"Despite all our protests there has been no action on the part of the Centre. The Governors of both States should be recalled and we will not allow functioning of Parliament," Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) deputy leader in Lok Sabha V K Malhotra said after a meeting of senior NDA leaders.
The 30-minute meeting chaired by leader of Opposition L K Advani was attended by, among others, NDA convenor George Fernandes, senior BJP leaders M Venkaiah Naidu, Sushma Swaraj and Pramod Mahajan, Biju Janata Dal (BJD) leader B K Tripathy, Shiv Sena's Anant Geete, Indian Federal Democratic Party MP P C Thomas, SAD's S S Dhindsa and Shetkari Sanghatana's Sharad Joshi and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader Yerran Naidu.
Malhotra said that the new Governors should be appointed in both States and they should review the decision of their predecessors.
Later, Fernandes and Malhotra, met Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee and conveyed the Opposition alliance's decision to him.
