Paswan and Sharad Yadav discuss Bihar situation
Friday, March 4 2005 22:37 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

New Delhi: Amidst deadlock over Government-formation in Bihar, LJP (Lok Janshakti Party) president Ram Vilas Paswan today (Mar 4, 2005) met senior JDU (Janata Dal United) leader Sharad Yadav.

The meeting assumes significance in view of Paswan's efforts to cobble a non-RJD (Rashtriya Janata Dal) and non-BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) Government in Bihar following a fractured verdict in Assembly elections.

Spotlight: Elections 2005

Yadav is believed to have conveyed to Paswan the difficulty in JDU coming out of the BJP-led NDA (National Democratic Alliance).

The saffron party wanted Paswan to come out of the UPA (United Progressive Alliance) if he was interested in formation of a new Government in the State and avoidance of President's rule, Yadav is believed to have stressed this.
