Horo appeals to Governor to 'free' Ekka from NDA Saturday, March 5 2005 20:28 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
Ranchi:
The Jharkhand Party today (Mar 5, 2005) appealed to Governor Syed Sibtey Razi to take steps in freeing its newly elected Legislator from Kolebira, Ennos Ekka from the "clutches of the NDA at any cost."
"Without consulting the Jharkhand Party, the NDA (National Democratic Alliance) has forcibly taken our Legislator to Delhi," Jharkhand Party president N E Horo said in a memorandum to the Governor.
Ekka is one of the Independents paraded before President A P J Abdul Kalam by the NDA.
Horo said that since February 28, Ekka was neither being allowed to meet his family, nor allowed to participate in party programmes.
Recalling that the Governor had been informed on March 1, Horo said that although the director-general of police, Ranchi, should have taken steps on the basis of a complaint to free Ekka and hand him over to the Jharkhand Party, this had not been done.
