After RJD, NDA delegation to meet Bihar Governor Saturday, March 5 2005 17:33 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
New Delhi:
Amid last-ditch attempts by RJD (Rashtriya Janata Dal) at Government formation in Bihar, an NDA (National Democratic Alliance) delegation is likely to meet Governor Buta Singh in Patna this evening (Mar 5, 2005) to tell him that Rabri Devi should not be invited to form the Government.
This was decided at a meeting held at the residence of JDU (Janata Dal United) Parliamentary Board chairman Sharad Yadav attended by party leader Nitish Kumar and BJP general secretary Arun Jaitley, who is in charge of Bihar affairs.
Sources said that since RJD had staked claim to form the Government and there was no other contender, NDA leaders apprehend that the Governor might invite Rabri Devi to prove majority on the floor of the House.
To prevent this, a delegation of NDA leaders - consisting of both JDU and BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) representatives - would apprise him about the factual position about the numbers game, they said.
After Jaitley left the meeting, the two JDU leaders are understood to have discussed LJP (Lok Janshakti Party) chief Ram Vilas Paswan's formula about a non-RJD, non-BJP Government in Bihar.
