Bihar: Governor Buta Singh recommends Central rule Sunday, March 6 2005 15:43 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
Patna:
Bihar Governor Buta Singh today (Mar 6, 2005) recommended to the Centre imposition of President's rule in the State, Raj Bhawan sources said in Patna.
Since no pre-poll alliance had convinced the Governor about its claim to form Government with the required support of 122 MLAs in the 243-member Bihar Assembly, Buta Singh recommended President's rule in the State to end political uncertainty, the sources said.
Earlier in the day, Singh called Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) president Ram Vilas Paswan to Raj Bhawan to know his party's stand on Government formation but Paswan stuck to his stand that he would not support either RJD or BJP in forming a Ministry.
Rabri Devi had yesterday (Mar 5, 2005) staked claim to form Government on the ground that Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) was the single largest party.
