Having one child will reduce Hindus to a minority
Sunday, March 6 2005 12:05 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Nagpur: Describing as 'dangerous' the trend among Hindus to have just one child, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief K S Sudarshan yesterday (Mar 5, 2005) warned that it would reduce the community to a minority in the country.

"Every Hindu family must have at least three children, otherwise Hindus would become a minority in their own country by the year 2060," he said.

Sudarshan was speaking after releasing a 12-volume set of books containing the thoughts and writings of the Sangh's former Sarsanghachalak M S Golwalkar in Nagpur last evening.

Calling upon Hindus to be assertive, the RSS chief said that the British exploited the lack of self-respect among Hindus to rule the country.

We must learn from history and not repeat the same mistakes, he added.
