EC grants 'State Party' status to LJP & CPI-ML

New Delhi: The Election Commission today (Mar 7, 2005) granted 'State Party' status to Ram Vilas Paswan-led Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) and CPI-ML (Communist Party of India-Marxist Leninist) in Bihar.

The recognition has been given on the basis of their performance in the just-ended Assembly polls in the State, EC sources said.

Spotlight: Elections 2005

LJP has bagged 29 seats and CPI-ML seven seats in the elections.
