Centre will appoint right advisor for Bihar: Patil Tuesday, March 8 2005 12:59 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
New Delhi:
The Centre would appoint the "right" advisor to assist Governor Buta Singh during President's rule in Bihar, Home Minister Shivraj Patil said today (Mar 8, 2005).
"Whatever is right will be done," he said when asked who would be appointed as advisor following imposition of President's rule in the State yesterday (Mar 7, 2005).
Patil was speaking after Lok Janshakthi Party (LJP) president Ram Vilas Paswan met him at his residence today morning, to discuss the situation in the State.
To a question whether any name has been decided for the post, he said, "It is our duty to appoint the right person, you will be informed at the right time."
Paswan said that he had thanked Patil for the decision to impose Central rule and asked him to appoint an "impartial" person as advisor who would work for the development of Bihar.
"The advisor should not listen to either Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) president Laloo Prasad or Paswan but work only for Bihar. The Home Minister has assured me that whoever goes there, will be impartial and the law and order situation will be a priority," he said.
Though he claimed that he had not suggested any names for the post, Paswan said that it was not wrong if "Cabinet colleagues" gave their "advice" in this regard.
"I say take advice of all but the work should be for the betterment of Bihar," he said.
