I don't care who are nominated as advisors: Laloo Tuesday, March 8 2005 15:53 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
Patna:
Laloo Prasad on Tuesday (March 8, 2005) brushed aside reports that he was interfering in appointments of advisors to Governor Buta Singh in Bihar following imposition of President's Rule in Bihar.
The RJD (Rashtriya Janata Dal) president said he was "least bothered" about those who were being nominated as advisors.
"I have not raised the posting of advisors of my choice during my meeting with UPA (United Progressive Alliance) chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil," Prasad said while angrily reacting to reports that he wanted nomination of bureaucrats of his choice.
"I do not care who are nominated as advisors to the governor and it is for the Centre and governor to decide," he said.
But at the same time, I don't want bureaucrats with a mental case taking over as advisors and issuing shoot orders."
Laloo was reacting to newspapers reports that four names are doing the rounds in the Home Ministry for the post of advisor to Governor.
They are former Bihar Chief secretaries Arun Pathak, V S Dubey, P P Srivastava, besides super cop K P S Gill.
Taking a dig at LJP (Lok Janshakti Party) president Ramvilas Paswan, whom he held responsible for imposition of President's Rule, Prasad pointed to a wall clock.
"This is a pendulum which oscillates here and there."
He also lambasted Samajwadi Party leader and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav.
Mulayam Singh is the man who winds the clock", he said.
