MiG fighter jet crashes in Bikaner; pilot killed

Jaipur: A MiG 21 fighter jet today (March 8, 2005) crashed soon after take off from Naal Airbase in Bikaner killing the pilot and injuring seven people on the ground, a senior police official said.

The accident occurred at around 1300 hrs (IST) when the aircraft on a routine sortie hit a water pump house as it took off, Bikaner Superintendent of Police C Ponnuchamy told sources in Jaipur over phone.

The injured were admitted to P B M hospital in Bikaner, he said.
