BJP to Cong: How far you searched Kargil coffin? Wednesday, March 9 2005 21:47 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
New Delhi:
The BJP today (Mar 9, 2005) said the UPA (United Progressive Alliance) Government had "failed" during nine months in office to come up with any evidence in the coffin-purchase scam during Kargil conflict and alleged this "exposed" the ruling Government's "political dishonesty."
"Congress leaders, including party president Sonia Gandhi, had accused the previous NDA (National Democratic Alliance) Government on the coffin controversy. Now it is nine months since NDA convenor George Fernandes has written a letter to the Government to bring out all the facts on the issue. But, nothing has been done so far," party spokesman V K Malhotra told reporters.
"For two and a half years the Congress did not allow the Lok Sabha to function. Now when the CBI and police are with the UPA-led Government at the Centre, why nothing is coming out on the matter. The political dishonesty of the UPA Government has been exposed," he said.
