NDA to allow 'normal functioning' of Parliament Wednesday, March 9 2005 11:01 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

After disrupting Parliament for almost of week, National Democratic Alliance (NDA) today (Mar 9, 2005) decided to allow normal functioning of both Houses.
"We will raise our apprehensions in both Houses about the possibility of Shibu Soren Government nominating an Anglo-Indian before the March 15 trial of strength in Jharkhand Assembly," Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) deputy leader in Rajya Sabha Sushma Swaraj told reporters after a meeting of the leaders of the Opposition alliance.
NDA leaders Nitish Kumar, Arun Jaitley, Ravi Shankar Prasad and alliance convenor George Fernandes are expected to call on President A P J Abdul Kalam later in the afternoon and demand among other things security to the MLAs supporting the NDA in Jharkhand.
The meeting was attended among others by Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader Yerran Naidu.
