Haryana CM to expand Council of Ministers today Thursday, March 10 2005 09:47 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
New Delhi:
Haryana Chief Minister B S Hooda will be expanding his Council Of Ministers today (Mar 10, 2005) inducting ten Ministers in his Cabinet.
"Ten Ministers will be taking oath of office and secrecy tomorrow evening at five pm," Hooda told reporters at the All India Congress Committee (AICC) headquarters in New Delhi after meeting AICC general secretary in charge of Haryana Janardana Dwiwedi yesterday (Mar 9, 2005).
Though it was not immediately known who all would be included in the cabinet, Hooda had after a meeting with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and party Chief Sonia Gandhi, said all regions and communities would be given representation.
As per the constitutional restriction of the size of Ministry in proportion to strength of the Assembly, there will be 14 Ministers, including one Chief Minister in the State.
There has been speculation that former Chief Minister Bhajan Lal's son is being offered Deputy Chief Ministership in view of Hooda getting the top post.
Since his arrival in the capital four days back, Hooda, besides meeting Singh and Sonia, had held meeting with other senior party leaders and discussed Cabinet expansion as also steps to be taken for "good governance".
Hooda, who represents Rohtak constituency in Lok Sabha, yesterday met senior party leader and Human Resource Development Minister Arjun Singh.
