'Sonia's dictatorial style would destroy Congress' Thursday, March 10 2005 22:12 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
New Delhi:
Accusing Congress president Sonia Gandhi of having "dictatorial" style of functioning, NDA (National Democratic Alliance) convenor George Fernandes today (March 10, 2005) said she would meet the same fate as of Indira Gandhi after the Emergency.
"This dictatorial attitude will not go a long way and her fate would be the same as that of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi after the Emergency was revoked and elections were held in which Congress had to bite the dust," Fernandes told reporters in New Delhi on the sidelines of a discussion on the book "Open Secrets: India's Intelligence Unveiled" written by former Joint Director of IB M K Dhar.
"Any future elections will see the fate of Congress similar to that of 1977," he said while referring to the fate of UPA Government in Jharkhand.
The former Defence Minister also alleged that Tehelka expose was a handiwork of only Sonia Gandhi. "I have information that she has written a letter to Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram asking his Ministry not to trouble Tehelka owners," Fernandes claimed.
