Arjun Munda sworn-in as Jharkhand Chief Minister

Ranchi: BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) leader Arjun Munda was today (Mar 12, 2005) sworn-in as Jharkhand Chief Minister.

Munda, who was appointed the Chief Minister last night after Shibu Soren failed to prove his majority in the Assembly, was administered the oath of office and secrecy by Governor Sibtey Razi at a public ceremony in Ranchi.

Along with Munda, five independents, whose support is crucial for survival of his Ministry, were also sworn in as Ministers.

Jharkhand - Party Position

They are Sudesh Mahto, Chandraprakash Chaudhary, Enos Ekka, Madhu Kora and Harinnarain Rai.

BJP president L K Advani, NDA (National Democratic Alliance) convenor George Fernandes, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh were among those who attended the ceremony.
