NDA may drop no-confidence motion against Speaker
Saturday, March 12 2005 13:26 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is likely to drop its move for a no-confidence motion against Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee for suggesting a Presidential reference to the Supreme Court on its order on Jharkhand.

Spotlight: Elections 2005

NDA sources said today (Mar 12, 2005) that the move is being dropped in view of the "correction" in the situation in Jharkhand following the resignation of Shibu Soren Government.

An NDA meeting this evening is likely to take a formal decision on the issue.
