Stamp-paper: Judicial custody of accused extended Saturday, March 12 2005 10:12 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

The judicial custody of all sixty-five accused in multi-crore fake stamp paper case, was yesterday (Mar 11, 2005) extended till April 8, by the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) court in Pune.
For the first time, the proceeding was conducted through video-conferencing between Yerwada Central prison and Shivajinagar Judicial Court.
However, six accused, Adv Rashid Kulkarni, former ACP Mohanmad Mulani, Ajim Telgi, Tabrej Telgi, former ACP Gokul Patil and former MLA from Andhra Pradesh Krishna Yadav, did not appear for the proceedings through video-conferencing, arguing that they wanted to appear before the court.
The main accused Abdul Karim Telgi, urged the court that he should be relocated from the solitary confinement and allowed to mix with other accused, including some of his relatives.
The MCOCA judge S N Shembole asked the jail authorities to communicate the news of extension of judicial custody to other accused who did not appear for the video conferencing.
