J'khand special session may be extended till Mar 22 Sunday, March 13 2005 19:48 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
Ranchi:
The Arjun Munda Government which today (March 13, 2005) deferred the vote of confidence and speaker's election by a day, could extend the special session till March 22 to enable the Governor's address and vote-on-account, NDA's (National Democratic Alliance) speaker nominee Inder Singh Namdhari said.
"Since the Holi (festival of colour) falls on March 26 and every one will go on a festive mood, the governor's address and vote-on-account (for budget) could take place on March 21 and 22," Namdhari told reporters in Ranchi.
Giving reasons on the postponement of the trust vote to March 15 from 14, the former speaker said as the then pro-tem speaker Pradeep Kumar Balmachu had on March 11 adjourned the house till March 15, some MLAs must have gone to their homes expecting the session to resume on Tuesday (March 15, 2005). "So the date has been rescheduled."
