Chander Mohan is Deputy CM, Birender gets Finance

Chandigarh: Chandigarh: Former Chief Minister Bhajan Lal's son Chander Mohan was today (Mar 15, 2005) made Haryana Deputy Chief Minister while State senior Congress leader Birender Singh was given Finance and Labour portfolios as ten Cabinet rank Ministers were allocated portfolios today.

Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, who allocated the portfolios to the Cabinet Ministers sworn in last week, met Governor A R Kidwai at Raj Bhavan in Chandigarh in this regard.

Chander Mohan will hold the Food and Supplies department.

Spotlight: Elections 2005

Former Union Minister Vinod Sharma becomes the Excise and Taxation Minister while Lachhman Das Arora has been given the Industries department.

Surender Singh, son of former Chief Minister Bansi Lal, has been given Agriculture and Revenue portfolio.

While frontrunner for the Chief Minister's post Birender Singh got Finance, another key man who was in the race - Randeep Singh Surjewala has been given Transport and Parliamentary Affairs.

Phool Chand Mulana gets education while O P Jindal has been given the Power portfolio.
