2 policemen, 3 naxals killed in two incidents in AP Wednesday, March 16 2005 09:57 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Two policemen were killed and another was injured when Communist Part of India (CPI) maoists attacked police patrol party near Mallikapur crossing in Nalgonda town late last night (Mar 15, 2005).
Driver of the police van, however, escaped, while the injured policeman was admitted to Nalgonda city hospital, police said.
According to the reports the police patrol party was filling the petrol in the van, when it was attacked by armed naxalites.
Last week, seven police personnel were killed in naxalite attack at Guntur police station.
In another report three naxalites, including a woman of Communist Party of India-Marxist-Leninist (CPI-ML) Janasakti were killed and a State-owned RTC bus was set ablaze, while 12 naxals surrendered to police in Andhra Pradesh yesterday.
In an exchange of fire between naxalites and police at Regulagudem under Mahamutharam police limits in Karimnagar district, three naxals including a woman were killed, a report from Karimnagar said.
The district SP Devender Singh Chauhan told reporters at Karimnagar that a police party on combing operation come across with naxals assembled at the village outskirts.
On seeing the police, the naxalites opened fire and in retaliation fire by police, three unidentified naxals died and remaining fled away, the SP said adding that five weapons including two spring field rifles, two country made revolvers and a DBBL gun beside kits bags.
In Warangal district, about 20 maoists stopped a RTC bus near Raghavareddypeta village and asked passengers to get down. Later, they broke down the oil tank and set afire it.
In Khammam district, 12 extremists of different groups including a maoist surrendered before the district SP Bhavana Saxena at Kothatudem.
