Musharraf to watch Delhi one-dayer on April 17
Wednesday, March 16 2005 16:50 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

New Delhi: Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf will watch the last one-dayer of the Indo-Pak cricket series in New Delhi on April 17.

"President Musharraf will be coming to Delhi to watch the match on April 17. He will be spending either April 16th night or April 17th night here," the Prime Minister's Media Advisor Sanjaya Baru said today (Mar 16, 2005).

During his stay, Musharraf will be meeting Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, he said.

Sources in the Prime Minister's Office had said yesterday that Singh will be meeting Musharraf when he visits to watch a match but "there is no formal agenda for bilateral talks".

"This is not going to be a summit meeting," they said.

Musharraf in an interview to BBC telecast last night said that he looked forward to holding "a little more concrete" talks with Indian leaders during his visit to India to watch a match of the ongoing Indo-Pak cricket series.

"I have been invited to India and I have a blank cheque to watch any of the matches. More important than the match, I would like to meet Indian leaders and I know there is desire on the other side, and I look forward to making this meeting a little more concrete, to move the process forward," he said.
