Maoists kill 2 ex-naxals, set afire RTC bus in AP Thursday, March 17 2005 15:30 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Branding them as "police informers", the Maoist ultras killed two former naxals in Medak and Anantapur district and set afire an Road Transport Corporation (RTC) bus in Warangal district of Andhra Pradesh, police said in Hyderabad today (Mar 17, 2005).
Four armed Maoists went to the house of Potharaju Sattaiah (32) and opened fire from point blank range killing him on the spot yesterday (Mar 16, 2005) night at Indupriyal village in Medak district, police said.
In another incident, a six-member naxal gang shot dead Venkatramulu yesterday night in Anantapur district.
The ultras suspected both Sattaiah and Venkatramulu, to be working as a police informers after leaving the naxal path, police said.
The naxals also set ablaze an RTC bus at Atmakur Mandal in Warangal district after asking the passengers to get down. The ultras broke the fuel tank before setting it afire, police said.
Meanwhile, the 'Nalgonda bandh' call given by Andhra Pradesh Police Officers' Association, to protest the killing of three policemen by naxalites in that district on Tuesday (Mar 15, 2005) night, has been called off.
The call for bandh today has been withdrawn in view of class ten examinations in the State, association sources said in Hyderabad.
The association had given the call yesterday to protest the killing of three policemen of a highway patrol party by Maoists in Nalgonda district.
