Supreme Court allows Pappu to take oath as MP
Thursday, March 17 2005 11:43 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

New Delhi: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) MP Pappu Yadav, who was shifted to Tihar jail in connection with the Ajit Sarkar murder case, was today (Mar 17, 2005) allowed by the Supreme Court to take oath as a member of Lok Sabha on March 21.

The Court also directed the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHC) to depute a doctor to Tihar jail to examine the health conditions of Yadav.

It asked jail authorities to take appropriate steps in case the physician suggests any treatment.

The court, however, rejected Yadav's plea to visit his Madhepura constituency in Bihar for two days after taking the oath as MP.
