Meeting on Naxalite activities in seven States
Friday, March 18 2005 20:29 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Kolkata: Home Secretaries of seven States, including Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal, will meet in Delhi tomorrow (March 19, 2005) to discuss the Naxalite problem and evolve strategies to counter the menace.

West Bengal Home Secretary A K Deb said today (March 18, 2005) that he would take part in the meeting convened by the Union Home Secretary.

The meeting comes in the wake of a recent spurt in Naxalite activities in seven States, particularly Andhra Pradesh, where several policemen have lost their lives in either ambushes or encounters with the ultras.
