New Delhi:
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) yesterday (Mar 18, 2005) ruled out change of leadership in Gujarat where Chief Minister Narendra Modi faces revolt against his style of functioning from a section of party MLAs.
"There is no question of any leadership change. In a family, some differences are bound to be there. The grievances have been conveyed to the party leadership and they will be sorted out soon," party secretary in charge of Gujarat Om Prakash Mathur said in New Delhi when asked about dissidence in BJP State unit and the possibility of a leadership change there.
Following Mathur's meeting with party president L K Advani, four Gujarat Ministers, considered to be Modi loyalists including Ashok Bhatt and Bhupendrasinh Chudasama, also met Advani and apprised him of the developments in the State.
