Spiritual link between Kanchi & Kalavai: Sr Seer Saturday, March 19 2005 20:20 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
Kalavai (TN):
Breaking his over two-month-long silence, the Kanchi Seer, Jayendra Saraswathi, today (March 19, 2005) said there was a "spiritual link between Kancheepuram and Kalavai for the past 100 years."
The Seer, who has been staying at the Brindavan complex here, had been observing 'moun vrat' (vow of silence) since his release on bail from the Vellore Prison in the Sankararaman murder case on January 11.
The Seer said for him, Kalavai was a special place, as his guru late Sri Chandrasekarendra took sanyas in Kalavai.
Visiting various temples in this small town, he assured the people that he would make arrangements for the renovation of the temples here. He would also help in constructing new temples, he said.
He appealed to the people to work unitedly for the betterment of the town.
He also inspected the renovation works going at Chandrakeswar temple.
