Sunday, March 20 2005 18:54 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

New Delhi: Congress today (Mar 20, 2005) saw nothing wrong in Speaker Somnath Chatterjee holding a conference of Presiding Officers of Legislative bodies in the backdrop of Supreme Court order on the Jharkhand issue, which has created a controversy.

"It is important to ascertain the powers of the judiciary. It is perfectly fine for the Legislatures or any other organ to discuss. The Speaker is well within his jurisdiction to hold discussion on this", Congress spokesman Abhishek Singhvi said.
