Manmohan Singh hosts lunch for Musharraf's family

New Delhi: In a significant gesture, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today (March 21, 2005) hosted lunch in honour of visiting mother, son and brother of Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf in New Delhi.

Musharraf's mother Zarin, alongwith her son Javed and grandson Bilal spent an hour-and-a-half at the Prime Minister's residence, a PMO spokesman said.

The Prime Minister's wife Gursharan Kaur also joined the visiting dignitaries for lunch, he said.

The trio, arrived in India on March 16. They visited the family's ancestral house at Daryaganj here and gone to Aligarh Muslim University where Zarin had studied.

Bilal, who is based in the United States, also visited Lucknow yesterday (March 20, 2005).
