Zaheera must appear on Apr 13: Godhra Commission
Monday, March 21 2005 18:09 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Ahmedabad: The Godhra Commission today (Mar 21, 2005) asked the prime witness in Best Bakery case Zaheera Shaikh, who failed to appear before it, that a warrant could be against her if she did not appear on April 13.

Zaheera, who was scheduled to depose before the Commission today for cross-examination, instead wrote a letter through her counsel seeking extension of time on the ground that she was busy in making affidavits for Supreme Court.

She was summoned by the Commission comprising Justice (Ret) G T Nanavati and Justice (Ret) K G Shah.

Zaheera's counsel sought one more extension saying that she was preoccupied. This was opposed by Advocate Mukul Sinha saying that the Commission should serve her warrant as this was the fourth time that she had sought extension.
