Benazir Bhutto, Zardari to visit India on March 24
Tuesday, March 22 2005 17:00 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

New Delhi: Former Pakistan Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto will visit India on March 24, second such trip since her self-imposed exile eight years ago.

Bhutto, to be accompanied by her husband Asif Zardari, will be on a "private" visit mainly to pay obeisance at the dargah shrine in Ajmer in Rajasthan, sources said in New Delhi today (March 22, 2005).

Bhutto and Zardari will be offering "thanksgiving" prayers at the dargah for release of the latter from jail recently, they said.

No official meetings are on card so far but cannot be ruled out after they arrive here, the sources said.

The former Prime Minister is living in London in self-exile in the wake of corruption cases against her in Pakistan.

She undertook a visit to India last year to attend a conference here during which she met top leaders.
