Bihar Governor to meet masses and hear grievances Wednesday, March 23 2005 14:35 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

In pursuance of his aim to make the President's rule in the State "people friendly", Bihar Governor Buta Singh has decided to meet the common masses at the State Secretariat once a week.
This effort is being taken to get a "direct" feedback about impact of efforts to tighten law and order situation and accelerate the pace of development, official sources said today (Mar 23, 2005).
The "governor-people" interaction programme is likely to start after Holi festival, the sources said.
Besides, a "complaint cell" is expected to start functioning at Raj Bhawan soon; where people's grievances can be lodged the sources said adding that an officer of the rank of Join Secretary will head the cell.
The day and time on which the Governor would meet the people in a particular week would be advertised beforehand through newspapers and other media for the convenience of the people, the sources said.
Soon after imposition of President's rule in Bihar on March 8, the Governor has been regularly spending long hours at his secretariat office interacting with the top State Government officials including chief secretary K A H Subramanian and giving them necessary directions, the sources said.
