Benazir and Zardari to arrive in India on Apr 1
Friday, March 25 2005 13:49 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

New Delhi: Former Pakistan Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto will arrive in India for a two-day visit on April 1, official sources said.

Bhutto and her husband Asif Ali Zardari, who were to arrive in New Delhi yesterday (Mar 24, 2005), had delayed their visit by a week. This will be Bhutto's second trip since her self-imposed exile eight years ago.

"I understand they will be in New Delhi on April 1 and 2," an External Affairs Ministry spokesman said. "It will be a private visit," he added.

The Pakistan People's Party (PPP) chief will pay obeisance at the dargah in Ajmer in Rajasthan in the wake of her husband being released from prison recently, the sources said.

Bhutto undertook a visit to India last year (2004) to attend a conference in New Delhi during, which she met senior leaders.
