The President and Prime Minister today (Mar 25, 2005) greeted the nation on the occasion of Holi, expressing the hope that the festival of colours will help in spreading happiness and goodwill.
In his message on the occasion, President A P J Abdul Kalam said, "A good human life is just like that of a flower, which blossoms, gives its beauty and then fades away. In the same way, on Holi Day, we should spread happiness and forgiveness.
"Let us share our happiness with people who need it," he said.
The Prime Minister in his message said the festival of colours symbolises the beauty and strength of India's cultural mosaic.
"With its spirit of togetherness and gaiety, Holi is an occasion to bury all differences and strengthen the bonds of friendship," Singh said.
"May Holi bring with it the message of peace and goodwill," he said.
