Govt sets up committee to review impact of tsunami

New Delhi: The Government has constituted a seven-member committee to assess the long-term impact of tsunami waves on the ocean eco-system and its resources, including flora and fauna.

The committee under the chairmanship of Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services (INCOIS) Director K Radhakrishnan would also study the impact of anti-dumping duties imposed by the US on the economic sustenance of fishermen, aqua culturists and downstream processors.

The committee, under the Ocean Development Department, has been asked to prepare and submit its report "as early as possible", an official statement said.
