Two BSF jawans killed in a militant attack in JK

Jammu: Two BSF (Border Security Force) jawans were killed and eight injured in a militant attack at a post in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir, police sources said today (March 28, 2005).

The militants fired indiscriminately at the Border Security Force search party at Manu post in the district around 10 last night, they said.

Head constable Saroop Chand and lance naik Hoshiyar Singh died on the spot. The injured personnel were rushed to a nearby hospital, they added.

Reinforcements have been rushed to the area and efforts were being made to flush out the militants, the sources said.
