Mumbai: Twenty- three year old Amrita Thappar, was crowned Miss India Universe 2005.

Sindura Gadde (20) and Niharika Singh (22) were crowned Miss India World and Miss India Earth respectively at the function held at MMRDA grounds in Mumbai yesterday (March 27, 2005).

Pune lass Amrita clinched the title from amongst the 23 contestants. She holds a PG diploma in fashion designing and is interested in sketching and charcoal painting.

She also practices kick-boxing. Beauty to her is being beautiful in mind and deed.

New Zealand-based 20-year-old Sindura holds a double degree in pharmacology and physiology and a diploma in modelling and hosts a TV show in New Zealand.

Hailing from Uttaranchal, 22-year old Niharika, who is Mumbai-based, has featured in several videos and TV commercials. She likes cooking and adventure sports.

Actors Pooja Bedi, Suniel Shetty, Kareina Kapoor, author Shobha De, industrialist Anand Mahindra, designer Rocky S, Celina Jaitley, editor of Times of India, Jaideep Bose and Olympic silver medallist shooter, Lt Col Rajyavardhan Rathore were the judges of the mega event.
