Nitish for installation of popular Govt in Bihar Monday, March 28 2005 14:36 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
Patna:
Stepping up exercise for formation of a popular Government to bring curtains on President's Rule in Bihar, senior JDU (Janata Dal United) leader Nitish Kumar today (March 28, 2005) said the three-day conclave of party leaders beginning tomorrow (March 29, 2005) in Rajgir would chart out a fresh course of action for installation of non-RJD (Rashtriya Janata Dal) Government.
''We will chart out a fresh course of action for installation of a popular Government minus RJD to speed up the pace of development'', Kumar told reporters in Patna.
Kumar said it would be an ''introspection'' meeting where party leaders would review the poll results and discuss future strategy.
'' The JDU has been inviting the non-RJD parties to come on a common platform even before the elections and now, the other parties too have realised that another immediate election would mean return of the RJD'', he said.
Kumar said the meeting would also evolve a Common Minimum Programme to elicit support from the anti-RJD groups for Government formation.
On LJP (Lok Janshakti Party) President Ramvilas Paswan's eagerness to join hands with JDU for forming a Government minus RJD and BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party), Kumar said he had already made clear his party's stand on
that.
''If Paswan comes up with support of 67 MLAs, the JDU will not hesitate in lending support to such move'', he said.
Kumar, however, described as ''impractical'' talk of a Government without support from BJP.
Senior party leaders, including George Fernandes, Sharad Yadav, Kumar, other JDU MPs and legislators would attend the meeting.
