New Delhi: The Supreme Court today (March 28, 2005) directed the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) to take all possible steps within a week to prevent illegal slaughtering and tanning done in the vicinity of Idgah slaughter house in New Delhi. The Court asked the MCD to take help of police, "If necessary", to stop the illegal activity and report back to it about the steps taken in this regard by April 8, the next date of hearing.
