2 Haryana Ministers killed in UP helicopter crash

Lucknow: Haryana Agriculture Minister Surender Singh and Power Minister and head of the Jindal Group O P Jindal were killed while MLA Ved Goyal and two others were injured when the helicopter they were travelling in crashed near Gango in Uttar Pradesh's Saharanpur district today (Mar 31, 2005).

Reports also reveal that the pilot Colonel PS Chauhan has also died.

The helicopter was owned by the Jindal Group.

UP Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav has asked State Parliamentary Affairs Minister Azam Khan to rush to the accident site.

Another person Vinod Kumar was seriously injured and has been admitted to hospital.

The Chief Minister has condoled the loss of lives in the crash. A two-minute silence was observed after Yadav informed the State Samajwadi Party Convention of the accident.
