Kancheepuram: Raghu, the brother of Junior Kanchi Shankaracharya Vijayendra Saraswathi and an accused in the Sankararaman murder case, today (Mar 31, 2005) broke down in a court in Kancheepuram when he saw his brother and senior pontiff Jayendra Saraswathi as they came to receive the chargesheet in the case.

The Acharyas and Mutt manager Sunderasa Iyer, another accused in the case, consoled Raghu after which he regained his composure and a short while later received the copies of the chargesheet from Judicial Magistrate G Uttamaraj.

Besides the four, 20 others are accused in the Sept 3, 2005 murder of Sankararaman, a temple manager in Kancheepuram.

Raghu and Sunderesa Iyer are among the 16 accused detained under the Goondas Act after their arrest in the murder case.
