Jindal cremated with full State honour in Hissar Friday, April 1 2005 14:40 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Noted industrialist and Power Minister of Haryana Om Parkash Jindal, who was killed in a helicopter crash near Saharanpur with Agriculture Minister Surender Singh and pilot T S Chauhan, was cremated in Hisar this afternoon (April 1, 2005) with full State honour.
The body of the 75-year-old industrialist-politician draped in the tri colours was taken from his residence in Hisar in an open truck to the cremation ground behind the Jindal Group unit, over three kilometres away. His eldest son Prithvi Raj Jindal lit the pyre after religious ceremonies.
His four sons Lok Sabha MP Navin Jindal, Rattan Jindal, Prithvi Raj Jindal and Sajjan Jindal, Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Cong General Secretary Janardan Dwividi and Lok Sabha MP Jai Parkash were among those seated in the open truck carrying the body.
Several Union Ministers, including Shivraj Patil (Home), and leaders of the Congress and the Opposition parties, including of the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) were present on the occasion.
Meanwhile, Col (Retd) T S Chauhan, pilot of the ill-fated helicopter was cremated in his native village Sagga in Haryana today.
