Osborne is the producer of Hollywood blockbusters - Lord of the Rings and The Matrix, whose digital animation characters had earned fans across the world.
"The artistry and rich cultural heritage of India offers a great opportunity for Indian animation companies to work with Hollywood," he said, adding, "From here, the industry can just grow."
Animation outsourcing $ 1.5 billion this year, Osborne said, quoting a market study, and emphasised that he visited several Indian animation studios, where he could explore some collaboration in the future.
Madhusudhanan N, a national award winner in visual effects, who created graphics in Kamal Hassan starrer Alavandan, said the animation sector could replicate the IT outsourcing success.
"It is not too long before we see most of the Hollywood work moving to India. We are already working for some Hollywood productions," he said.
