IIMA not to raise fees for PG programmes this year Saturday, April 2 2005 16:12 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
Ahmedabad:
The Indian Institute of Management-Ahmedabad (IIM-A) has decided not to increase fees for its Post-Graduate programmes (PGP) for the academic year 2005-06 being conducted at the institute, (IMM -A) director Bakul Dholakia, said in Ahmedabad today (Apr 2, 2005).
The decision of not raising the fees has been taken as part of the rationalisation of fee-structure being undertaken by all the six IIMs in the country, Dholakia said.
The decision of not raising the fees was taken at the board meeting headed by IIMA chairman and Chief Mentor of Infosys Technologies N R Narayana Murthy today.
This decision comes on the heels several smaller IIMs recently deciding to raise their fees.
"This is the second successive year, the fees has not been raised and it lays to rest all speculations about a fee-hike," Dholakia said, adding that the current fees for PGP at the institute is over 1.85 lakh.
"During the meeting we have also decided to introduce a one-year residential programme on Public Management from the coming academic year (2005-06)," he said.
"Today we also discussed the design of the programme and a 15-member committee is working on the details of the programme," Dholakia added.
