11 Pak nationals missing in India; cases registered

Wagah (Amritsar) : Police yesterday (Apr 2, 2005) registered cases against 11 Pakistani nationals, who came to India to witness the Mohali cricket Test but failed to return to their country.

The 11 Pakistanis were charged with overstaying in India after expiry of their visas, police said.

The cases were registered against them at Gharinda Police Station, just 10 kms away from the international border.

Police said that they had passport numbers of the missing Pakistanis.

Of the 2754 Pakistani cricket fans who came to India to witness the cricket Test, 11 failed to return home.

The Punjab Immigration Department had passed on necessary details of the 11 missing persons to the Intelligence agencies.
