Pakistani kids arrive in B'lore for heart surgery Tuesday, April 5 2005 19:32 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
Bangalore:
Six Pakistani kids have arrived for heart surgery at Narayana Hrudayalaya in Bangalore, a super speciality hospital.
The children are in the age group of 1-4, a hospital spokesman said. They came from different parts of the neighbouring country and are set to undergo surgery in the next few days.
Pakistani kids coming to the hospital, where Noor Fatima was operated upon a couple of years ago amidst unprecedented media hype, for treatment of heart-related problems is not a new phenomenon.
In fact, name of at least one Pakistani could be seen in the roaster of those admitted at any given point of time, a Hospital official said.
According to the spokesman, around 230 kids from across the border have been treated for heart ailments in the last two years.
Besides Pakistan, kids from neighbouring countries, including Bangladesh, avail advanced and modern medical facilities there.
