Sonia will definitely be going to Srinagar: Cong
Wednesday, April 6 2005 22:02 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

New Delhi: Notwithstanding the terrorist attack on the Tourist Reception Centre in Srinagar, Congress President Sonia Gandhi will attend tomorrow's (Apr 7, 2005) launch of the Srinagar-Muzaffarabad bus service, the party said today (Apr 8, 2005).

Spotlight: Kashmir is Not Negotiable

"Nobody is going to be cowed down by these acts of terror. Congress President Gandhi herself has informed me on arrival from Dandi that she would definitely be going to the valley tomorrow for the flagging off of the bus", chairperson of AICC's (All India Congress Committee) media department Ambika Soni told sources in New Delhi.

Describing today's attack by militants as "very unfortunate", she said the forces which were "inimical" to restoration of peace and harmony in the State as also opposed to restoration of ties between India and Pakistan have struck once again.

Condemning the terror act, Sonia said it has taken place at a time when Confidence-Building Measures (CBMs) were being taken and no less than Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and the UPA (United Progressive Alliance) chairperson themselves were going to join the people of Kashmir valley at the launch of the bus journey between Srinagar and Muzaffarabad.
