Home Ministry reviews security in JK after attack

New Delhi: A high-level meeting presided by Home Minister Shivraj Patil today (Apr 6, 2005) reviewed the security scenario in Srinagar and adjoining areas following the militants' attack on the Tourist Reception Centre there ahead of tomorrow's (Apr 7, 2005) launch of bus service to Muzaffarabad.

Spotlight: Kashmir is Not Negotiable

The Home Ministry is studying the situation, senior officials said after the 30-minute meeting.

Patil is in touch with the authorities in Jammu and Kashmir.

The meeting was attended among others by Home Secretary V K Duggal, Director Intelligence Bureau E S L Narasimhan and Special Secretary (Internal Security) Anil Chowdhury.
